NV24 — Core Facts

  • Role: Expansion battery for NV14 (adds capacity; does not increase inverter output). Total system storage becomes ~24.0 kWh when paired with NV14.

  • Chemistry: Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄).

  • Usable Energy (NV24 only): 9.6 kWh (9,600 Wh).

  • Nominal Voltage: 48 V (voltage window 44–54 V).

  • Typical Capacity: 100 Ah (25 °C).

  • Power Path: System output is provided by the NV14 inverter (not the NV24). Continuous system output remains ~7.68 kW (32 A) AC with NV24 added.

Electrical / Charge–Discharge

  • Max continuous discharge (pack side): 155 A (≈ 7,680 W).

  • Max continuous charge (pack side): 100 A (≈ 5,000 W).

  • Energy charge efficiency: ~97% (20 °C).

Note: These are battery-pack limits. Household AC output and backup capability are governed by the NV14 inverter, which remains ~7.68 kW (32 A) continuous even with NV24 attached.

Physical & Environmental

  • Enclosure rating: NEMA 3R (indoor/outdoor).

  • Mounting: Ground-mount (uses wall bracket; anchors to studs/wall).

  • Dimensions: 42″ H × 20″ W × 10″ D.

  • Weight: ~270 lb

  • Operating temps: Charge 0–55 °C; Discharge –20–60 °C; Storage –20–60 °C.

Placement & Clearances (for page notes)

  • Proximity to NV14: Install within 2 ft of the NV14; keep ≥4″ separation (not touching).

  • Side clearance: NV24 requires about 2″ each side (NV14 typically 4″ each side).

Integration / Installation

  • Compatibility: Adds capacity to NV14 systems (Dec-2019 or later); retrofit-friendly.

Safety & Compliance (as part of NV14/24 ESS)

  • Listings & standards (system-level): UL 9540 / 9540A / 1973 / 1741 (SB), IEEE 1547, FCC Class B, NEMA 3R, CEC listing; CPUC Rule 21 compliant.

  • Cycle life (family): up to ~6,000 cycles at 90% DoD (per NV14/24 spec family curve).

Warranty

  • Manufacturer limited warranty applies to the NV14/24 family.

  • What You’re Buying

NeoVolta NV24 is an expansion battery (+9.6 kWh) that connects to an existing NV14 to bring total storage to ~24 kWh. It increases capacity onlysystem output remains ~7.68 kW (32 A) because the inverter is in the NV14 hub. NEMA 3R outdoor-rated.

Important: NV24 does not function without an NV14 already installed or included in this order.

Required On-Site Evaluation (Before Purchase, if you're a previous customer your info should already be in the system please call us directly for better previous customer pricing.)

We require an on-site evaluation agreement before any online NV24 purchase so we can confirm placement (must be close to NV14), clearances, conductors, and code/utility considerations.(any changes or issues with any portion of the installation due to necessary upgrades shall be something the customer will need to deal with extra financial necessities and would have to foot the cost if a preinstalled site evaluation  doesn't occur first.

    Choice:
    • Proceed at the standard price (eval included but not required to be completed at time of scheduling due to customer accepting extra costs if required).
    • Or opt-in to a special lower price based on your home specifics by accepting an on-site evaluation at sign-up.

Target on-site check: within 3 business days of purchase to confirm eligibility.

    Returns & Cancellations (Cooling-Off Right)

    • Cancel within 3 business days (5 days if 65+) for a full refund of any deposit.

    • After this 3/5-day period, refunds are not available. We’ll still complete your fast on-site check and apply any special lower pricing that fits your home.

    Sizing Policy & Undersizing Disclosure

    • NV24 is a capacity add-on. If you skip usage-based sizing or decline our recommended total capacity, we’ll still install at your request.

    • Clear disclosure: Choosing less capacity than recommended means shorter backup duration and fewer bill-offset opportunities.

    • We can phase upgrades (add NV24 later) to match budget and needs, minimizing oversizing.

    Post-Design Reality Check

After design, variables are time, labor/visits, permits, and equipment availability. We’ll communicate any schedule changes from AHJ/utility.

Materials, Installed Items & Warranty Support

    • Materials already paid for will be provided to you if the scope changes after the refund window. Minus Labor and work completed until cancellation of contract.

    • Installed equipment is covered by manufacturer warranty; we can facilitate claims upon request.

    Care & Use Basics

Mount NV24 near the NV14 per manufacturer spacing rules, maintain clearances, and preserve ventilation. Keep monitoring online for best performance and diagnostics.

Universal Notes (Apply to Both Battery setups)

    • Fast Site Check: We prioritize a time-based site visit within 3 business days of purchase to confirm scope and, if chosen at sign-up, apply the special lower rate.

    • Transparency First: We practice fair, transparent sizing. Using your actual usage avoids costly undersizing upfront and dissatisfaction later.

    • Performance Expectation: Weather, shading, and load behavior affect results. Battery output is limited by the inverter rating; backup duration depends on capacity and how you use power.

    • Not a Contract: These are customer-facing policies to clarify expectations. Your final scope, pricing, and legal terms will appear in your Sun Diego Solar agreement. Final Signed Contract can be lower in price if You call and understand how the process can work best for you, call today for more.
